Can you hardly wait for the cycling season to start? Spring comes surprisingly early on the easiest and most popular Alp crossing for cyclists and on the new long-distance route following the Roman trails. South of the Reschenpass, it can be pleasantly warm already in February or March. The Fern and Reschen Passes are usually clear of snow by April. Should you find yourself in a pinch on one of the Passes, you can take the reliable Bike Shuttle. On the only Kaiserstraße crossing the Alps you can, during some years, see the last snowball fight of the winter, experience the different phases of spring and sunbathe at the ocean.

Spring is especially romantic in the Ammersee-Lech region, especially in Pfaffenwikel with its medieval towns at the foot of Landsberg, at Lech Schongau, and the market at Peiting. The Tyrolienne Zugspitz Arena at the foot of Germany's highest mountain is worth a trip any time of year. In spring, the region is bathed in a particularly nice light. At the garden village of Algund and the panorama village of Marling, next to the well-known spa town Meran, the cycling and hiking season begins early, on the 17. March. The Trentino Piana Rotaliana is the first Italian-speaking region along the route where agriculture and soft tourism form a symbiosis. Spring is also particularly charming at the gate to the national park Dolomiti Belunesi, in the Feltrino area, at the Venetian Alp boarder, around the city of arts Treviso, along the river Sile and at the lagoons of Quarto D'Altino and Venice. What comes as a surprise to most are the average temperatures in this region. The summers are colder than they are in Esch Valley while the winters and springs are milder. Nature has less catching up to do here and the region is blanketed in lush green more quickly. Unlike in summer, when nature turns brown, spring is one of the only times where it's possible to see a green Italy. The vineyards may still be blooming but nature has many other things to offer and the Venetian cooks know exactly how to use the natural bounty to create delicious dishes such as, the famous Radiccio Rosse of Treviso or white asparagus.
