Ec Der Deutschen Bahn

The north of the Via Claudia Augusta is optimally connected to the German and international railway network - especially the intercity stations Donauwörth and Augsburg - and the Austrian and German railways also transport bicycles throughout. So you can travel by train to the starting point and in the end you don't necessarily have to return to the starting point to pick up your car.

From Italy, the easiest and most comfortable way to travel is with the bike shuttle Italy > Germany back to the north, which we have organised together with partner companies. You will find all information here on this page and you can also book online right here.

Or you can return by train. In Italy the transport of bikes in regional trains is possible. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve seats for this and you have to change trains on the way. Occasionally there are long-distance trains, such as the Austrian Rail-Jet, which also transports bicycles and for which you can make reservations. Unfortunately there is not much room for bikes.

With Scotty you can find and book the right connection right away. As Austria is in the middle of the route, we have integrated the system of the Austrian Federal Railways, but with this system you can also find and book trains in Germany and Italy.
